Selection guide for primary cleaner

Primary cleaner installed below the horizontal line of the drive roller at the head of the conveyor, close to the discharge port, it can sweep most of the residual material on the working surface of the conveyor belt into the hopper, mainly scraping off large pieces of material and thick, attached material.

I.Main types

1.Carbide Scraper Cleaner

It uses a carbide blade with extremely high hardness, which is provided with constant pressure by a spring, ensuring a tight fit with the belt. It boasts excellent high-temperature resistance, impact resistance, and wear resistance, capable of handling highly abrasive and large, stubborn materials.

2.Polyurethane Scraper Cleaner

The one-piece polyurethane molded scraper has high elasticity, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. It does not come into contact with hard metal on the conveyor belt, thus effectively protecting the conveyor belt and possessing excellent adaptability.

II.Material properties

1.For large stones, raw coal and highly abrasive hard materials, carbide scrapers are preferred.

2.Choose standard polyurethane cleaner for sand, gravel, granular materials and ordinary bulk materials.

3.Select high-temperature resistant special type for high-temperature materials to avoid scraper softening and failure.

4.Choose general-purpose polyurethane cleaner for slightly damp materials without strong viscosity.

III.Belt parameter matching

1.Primary cleaner specifications must be selected according to belt width to avoid excessive width causing wear on belt edges or excessive narrowness leaving material residue.

2.Canvas and rubber belts are suitable for conventional scrapers. Avoid using sharp carbide scrapers on steel wire belts to prevent belt scratches.

IV.Operating environment requirements

1.Select heavy-duty spring-loaded cemented carbide cleaners for heavy-load, high-drop and high-strength conveying working conditions.

2.Choose light compact primary polyurethane cleaners for narrow space and compact head positions.

3.Select sealed and pressure-type cleaners with dustproof protective structure for dusty and harsh open-air environments.
